Give and Release Training Method

The give and release method is one of the most effective way to train your horse. When you are asking your horse to preform something along the lines of moving off your leg (leg yielding), neck reining, backing up or side passing you would add pressure to the horse whether it would be with your legs or to the bit and once you get the slightest response you release all pressure. Releasing the pressure rewards the horse for moving or preforming what you are asking. Horses do not like their mouths to be jercked around so this will allow you to train your horse without him getting angry or unquoperative.

NOTE- Do not ask your horse for a big step side ways or backwards right away ask for baby steps first then after a few days ask for bigger steps. Start small and work your way up and remember you must always be patient.
